Ice Ice Baby
Our personal Top 5 of the best ice cream shops in Hamburg
June 21st is the offical beginning of summer – and the time for ice cream begins (even if one or the other has certainly already started). And since we at my4walls are passionate about eating ice cream and always want to give our guests the best tips, we asked ourselves the question: where can you get the best ice cream in town?
Sure, tastes are different. That’s why it’s hard to say that only one shop is the best. So we did a lot of research and will introduce you to the 5 most popular ice cream places in Hamburg:
Luicella’s Ice Cream
Anyone who says ice cream in Hamburg, has to say also Luicella’s. In the meantime, the successful founders Markus and Luisa (known from the TV show “Die Höhle der Löwen”) have already opened three shops in Hamburg and one in Lübeck. We love the 100% natural, pure ice cream in the self-created varieties. There is also a wish board where we can bring in our own wishes and be creative.
Favourite: Avocado – white Chocolate
Where? Detlev-Bremer-Straße 46 (St. Pauli), Lange Reihe 113 (St. Georg), Grindelhof 67 (Grindelviertel)
€ 1,60 per scoop
Craziest ice cream shop in town.
As soon as the sun comes out in Hamburg, the queue at Schlecks in Ottensen feels like it’s reaching the Elbe beach. But that’s no wonder with all the delicious possibilities, because here we decide for ourselves what to mix into our favourite ice cream – and there are (fortunately) no limits to our imagination! Chocolate ice-cream with brownies and peanut butter… Strawberry ice-cream with jelly and crackling soda… Sounds crazy? It is! Let’s Schlecks!
Favourite: We can’t decide, you just have to put together your own dream of ice cream.
Where? Fischersallee 78 (Ottensen)
€ depending on your creation, between € 3-7 per cup
Eis & Innig
At Eis & Innig in the Klosterallee you can taste the passion with every spoon (or snack). Here every variety is made from high-quality and mostly regional products. In addition to the delicious ice cream, we are also impressed by the beautiful interior.
Favourite: Mint ice cream
Where? Klosterallee 102 (Hoheluft-Ost)
€ 1,40 per scoop
The ice cream at Delzepich is made from fresh whole milk according to a recipe that is decades old. Here, too, only natural ingredients are used – and you can taste it! The daily changing varieties are freshly prepared in the in-house production and only available until everything is empty and sold. So not too much is produced and no ice cream ends up in the garbage. And the best? You can view the current sorts of ice cream online and even pre-order them.
Favourite: Franzbrötchen ice cream
Where? Winterhuder Weg 67 (Winterhude)
€ 1,20 per scoop
Probably the longest ice cream counter in Hamburg.
For those who like to lick an ice cream as a reward after shopping, the L’Italiana Gelateria in the Europa Passage is exactly the right place. This is where ice cream production is authentically carried out according to Italian tradition and where great importance is attached to daily production. In addition to successful classics such as chocolate or Amarena cherry, the ice cream shop always endeavours to expand its range with its own new creations.
Where? Ballindamm 40, Europapassage (City Centre)
€ 1,40 per scoop
We hope we can sweeten this summer for you.
